PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a less costly packing material provided with conventional rustproof and scratch-proof functions as to a coil packing material used for packing a coil-formed product. SOLUTION: The material 2 is used for packing a coil product 1. The center 10 and the end 11 of the material have different characteristics, i.e. the center 10 has a cushioning function and the end 11 has a rustproof function. The width (Lc) of the center 10 and the total width (Le1+Le2) of both ends 11 are within the range expressed by formula (1): Lc≥W+2t and by formula (2) Le1+Le2≥W+100 (mm).
