PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which requires only the securement of a sufficiently small evacuation space when caps 2 covering a line-head type printer head are evacuated from a printer head and permits the device as a whole to be made compact. SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device has the caps 2 put on ink discharge faces of line-head type printer heads 1 and a moving mechanism 3 moving the caps 2 from the capping position of the printer heads 1 to the evacuation position where ink does not stick during discharge.
