PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a clocking system for a race and a clocking method for a race, accurately finding the arrival time of a racer to a line. SOLUTION: A current is applied to a loop coil to generate two alternating current magnetic fields 111, 121 repelling each other. The alternating current magnetic fields 111, 211 mutually cancel the magnetic force on a finish line L to form a slit. A racer RN wearing a wireless tag 70 runs toward the finish line L. When the wireless tag 70 passes through the alternating current magnetic fields 111, 211, it detects the respective alternating current magnetic fields to transmit wireless tag ID two or more times. The value obtained by dividing the sum of the latest time among the receiving times of the tag ID transmitted on detecting the alternating current magnetic field 111 and the earliest time among the receiving times of the tag ID transmitted on detecting the alternating current magnetic field 211 by two is found as the arrival time to the finish line L.
