Attractant (I) for insects, preferably species of Culex, Aedes, Anopheles, Simulium, mosquitoes, malaria mosquitoes and Glossina comprises a mixture of alcohol, ester of benzoic acid, alkoxyethanol and/or ketone with the carboxylic acid of 2-20C aliphatic alcohol, ester of 1-10C benzoic acid, 1-10C 2-alkoxyethanol, 4-20C aliphatic ketone or 5-20C aliphatic carboxylic acid.
