An energy transfer element and a converter including the same are provided to improve energy transfer efficiency between a primary side and a secondary side by reducing leakage inductance through an interleaved structure of a primary winding. A transformer(200) includes primary windings(210A,210B), a shield winding(220), a secondary winding(230), and a vias winding(240). The primary windings are divided into first and second parts and have an interleaved structure in which the other windings are positioned between the primary winding of the first part and the primary winding of the second part. The shield winding is positioned between the primary winding of the second part and the secondary winding and is adjacent to the primary winding of the second part. The secondary winding is connected between a third terminal(N3) and a fourth terminal(N4) of the transformer. The vias winding is positioned between the primary winding of the first part and the secondary winding.
