<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet discriminating device capable of always performing discrimination of a stable type or the like by effectively using color information even in the case of having to cope with paper sheets of various colors. <P>SOLUTION: A color image on a paper sheet is acquired by a color camera, R, G and B patterns constituting the color image are extracted as input patterns from the acquired color image, evaluation values representing a matching rate between both patterns are respectively calculated by collating the extracted R, G and B input patterns with R, G and B dictionary patterns prepared on the basis of a color image previously acquired from a plurality of types of paper sheets of a discrimination target in each corresponding color, each of the calculated evaluation values is subjected to prescribed weighting and added in each color, and the type of the paper sheet is discriminated on the basis of the addition result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
