PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-joint bending mechanism capable of smoothly performing the operation by an operating wire by reducing and evenly stabilizing the operation force of the operating wire, and capable of compactly disposing without entangling a lot of operating wires.

SOLUTION: In the multi-joint bending mechanism, operating wires 56-57 related to bending pieces disposed on the distal end side are disposed on the inner side area of operating wires 58-59 related to bending pieces disposed on the proximal end side from the operating wires 56-57. The operation force of the operating wires related to the bending pieces disposed on the distal end side, where the frictional resistance caused by the bending of the bending pieces is large, is intensively reduced.
