PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera, which prevents an imaging element from overheating, with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A housing 12 of the digital camera 11 comprises a front cover 13 and a rear cover 14. An opening portion into which a lens barrel 16 is inserted is bored in the front of the front cover 13. A holding plate 23 holding the lens barrel 16 is fitted inside the opening portion. A CCD image sensor 25 covered with a transparent material 24 is fixed before the holding plate 23 with a sheet of high heat conductivity interposed. A circuit board 28 having an incorporated CPU 29 is provided behind the holding plate 23. A heat insulating plate 30 made of a foaming agent is fitted to the back of the holding plate 23 to thermally insulate the CCD image sensor 25 and CPU 29 from each other. Heat generated by the CPU 29 is conducted through the rear cover 14 or through the air in the housing 12 and the rear cover 14 to be radiated to behind the digital camera 11, thereby deterring the heat from being conducted to the CCD image sensor 25.
