PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical apparatus having a mechanism for correcting the shift of a scanning width from a designed value during production. SOLUTION: A scanning optical apparatus includes: a deflecting and scanning means which deflects a laser beam from a light source and scans a face to be scanned; a reflection mirror which is provided in the optical path of the laser beam between the deflecting and scanning means and the face to be scanned and having a reflection face which reflects the laser beam; and curvature adjustment means for adjusting the curvature of the reflection mirror in a main scanning direction.
