PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston assembly in a hydraulic cylinder which is formed thinner by reducing axial width of a piston, in the double rod type hydraulic cylinder. SOLUTION: The piston 4 includes a fixing ring 8 mounted in a fixed groove 6a of the piston rod 6 and a piston main body 10 fixed to the fixing ring 8 by a bolt 12. The fixing ring 8 consists of two semi-disk-like members 8A, 8B having screw holes 8a for fixing the piston main body 10 with bolts and a hole part 8c for tightly fit to the fixing groove 6a of the piston rod 6 when butting the semi-disk-like members in a disk-like form. The piston main body 10 has a hole part 10a for externally fit to the piston rod 6 and a bolt hole 10c corresponding to the screw hole 8a of the fixing ring 8.
