The cross-section of the thread channel (11) is dimensioned such that a pressure is generated which presses the impregnating liquid (3) into the multifilament thread (1) when the multifilament thread that is moistened with the impregnating liquid (3) runs through the thread channel (11). The thread impregnation chamber (7) has a thread feeding port (8) which is designed as a hole in a wall area of the thread impregnation chamber (7), said wall area forming a bottom zone of the thread impregnation chamber (7).
