The method involves drying articles in a drying chamber (3), and providing a heater for heating process air, where the heater works in response to an heat output in a process air circuit. The heated process air is guided by a blower for articles to be dried. The heat output is regulated based on a parameter of a heat pump circuit. A parameter is measured as temperature of a refrigerant in a direction of water pump circuits (13, 14, 15) behind a condensor, where the parameter is measured as power consumption of the compressor. An independent claim is also included for a condensation dryer, comprising a drying chamber.
