<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a life of a vacuum pump including a high-speed rotor supported by at least one roller bearing. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum pump includes the high-speed rotor, and a roller bearing for rotatably supporting the rotor, including an inner ring and an outer ring, having a rolling body, and a retainer located in an intermediate space defined by the outer and inner rings.
