<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dazzling of a driver of a preceding vehicle and creation of a region not unilluminated by a headlight between a vehicle and its preceding vehicle, in a light control device controlling an angle of an optical axis of the headlight. <P>SOLUTION: In the light control device, an angle when the optical axis of the headlight is directed to an irradiation target at preset predetermined height unchanged in accordance with a distance from a preceding vehicle is calculated in a position separated forwardly by a distance from a preceding vehicle detected by a device for detecting a distance between two vehicles, and the headlight is made to change the orientation of the optical axis of the headlight to the calculated angle. Thus, even when the distance from the preceding vehicle is changed, since the orientation of the optical axis of the headlight is appropriately controlled in accordance with the changed distance from the preceding vehicle, this prevents dazzling of a driver of the preceding vehicle and creation of a region which is unilluminated by the headlight between a vehicle and its preceding vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
