<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent method and apparatus for generating a template used in handwritten character recognition. <P>SOLUTION: The method for generating a template used in handwritten character recognition includes steps of (a) acquiring a text; (b) identifying character strings in the text, each of the character string being constituted of one or a plurality of character sequences and the each character having each type; (c) determining the sequence of the character type of each character string; and (d) defining a template for the determined sequence of the character type, by representing the respective character types with different tokens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
