<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely and automatically read an indicator value after correcting distortion in an image of a round meter. <P>SOLUTION: An image input part 11 inputs an original image of the round meter 2. A meter area extraction part 12 extracts a meter area from the original image. A projection conversion part 13 carries out projection conversion of the extracted meter area for correcting distortion of a display board area included in the meter area. A reference line decision part 15 decides a reference line. An area division part 14 divides the display board area, in which distortion is corrected, into a scale area, a digit area, and a center/indicator area. An indicator position decision part 16 decides an angle made by the center line of the indicator and the reference line of the round meter 2 as a position of the indicator. A digit recognition part 17 recognizes digits in the digit area. A digit position decision/accumulation part 18 decides the positions of digits, and based on the decided positional information of the indicator and the respective digits, calculates an indicator value shown by the indicator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
