PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission control system of an automatic transmission for suppressing such degradation in precision of synchronous prediction that is caused by a fluctuation in the number of revolutions of an output shaft halfway through a shifting of the automatic transmission. SOLUTION: The transmission control system 70 is provided with a moderating control means for moderating the control on a brake-condition judgement part, a judgement part for the number of revolutions of the output shaft of the transmission. Thus, when the brake is out of operation in downshifting the automatic transmission 10, and beside the number NO of revolutions of the output shaft of the transmission is judged to be increased, a change in the number NO of revolutions of the output shaft is handled as small. Accordingly, even when the number NO of revolutions of the output shaft of the transmission is increased under a downshift, the synchronization prediction for a frictional engagement means is not taken place at an increased number NO of revolutions of the output shaft of the transmission. Thus, the effect of change in the number NO of revolutions of the output shaft of the transmission is decreased. As a result, that degradation in precision of synchronization prediction is suppressed, which is caused by a fluctuation in the number NO of revolutions of an output shaft halfway through a shifting of the automatic transmission 10.
