PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having favorably and mutually compatible high resolution and image enhancing. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises an inkjet head 40 for discharging ink droplets onto recording paper 30 from a plurality of nozzles 74, an image data receiving part 51 for receiving image data and a head controller 54 which performs discharge control of the inkjet head 40 based on the image data received at the image data receiving part 51. When image data having a solid coating region wherein pixels continuous in a predetermined number or more mutually in an identical color and of an identical size, are received by the image data receiving part 51, the head controller 54 performs discharge control of the inkjet head 40 so as to intermingle and arrange pixels having a plurality of sizes for a predetermined period in the solid coating region on the recording paper 30.
