PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control apparatus capable of attaining improvement in versatility, extensibility, user friendliness and operability. SOLUTION: A remote control apparatus includes: communication means 1a, 1b for receiving an advertisement signal transmitted from an electronic device, requesting to the electronic device that transmits the advertisement signal and acquiring remote function setting information corresponding to a specification of the electronic device meeting remote control type information of the relevant remote control apparatus; a storage means 1f for storing the remote control function setting information acquired by the communication means; and operation means 1e, 1f for setting an operating function of the relevant remote control apparatus on the basis of the remote control function setting information being stored in the storage means 1f, wherein the electronic device is remotely operated by operating the operation means 1e, 1f to which the operating function is set.
