PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection control device of a diesel engine capable of restraining generation of NOx and smoke, while reducing combustion noise, in the diesel engine for performing pilot injection. SOLUTION: The pilot injection timingθip is controlled so that a pilot combustion periodτp and a heat generating peak value Hp_max in pilot combustion fall within a target range, and a pilot injection quantity Qp is controlled so that ignition delay timeτdelay falls within a target range.
