PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent net changes in floating height by canceling a change in one element of a suspension by a change in another element. SOLUTION: A bi-layer flexure 320 made of two different materials is used for improving the floating height sensitivities of a slider 302 to a temperature. By combining materials of different thermal expansion rates, the flexure applies an upward or downward force to the slider and a reading/writing element 310 with changes in temperature.
