REINFORCING STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR PILE FOUNDATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reinforcing structure and method for a pile foundation for enhancing earthquake resistance of the existing pile foundation mainly without relying on the increase of the number of piles or soil improvement. SOLUTION: This reinforcing structure is provided with the foundation 2 supported on the piles 1 and sheet piles 3 inserted into the ground continuously in a section of at least a part in the peripheral direction of the foundation 2. A sheet pile wall 4 composed of these continuous sheet piles 3 and the foundation 2 are mutually joined to move integrally.
