PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diene polymer excellent in heat resistance, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a polymer comprising units represented by formula (1), and to a method for producing the polymer. In the formula (1), X1and X2are each independently the group 16 atom in the element periodical table; Y1and Y2are each independently H, an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl, or silyl; Y1and Y2may be bound to each other to form a ring; A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, and A10are each independently H, a halogen atom, OH, nitrile, aldehyde, an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl, silyl, siloxy, an alkoxy, an aralkyloxy, an aryloxy, amino, amide, imide or a hydrocarbonthio; (m) is 0 or 1; and (n) is an integer of 1 to 20.
