PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a sewing cycle by quickly moving a second hammer to an operation position under a first hammer, regardless of the position of a feeder. SOLUTION: A hammer driving mechanism 10 includes: a direct acting type support mechanism 18 for vertically movably supporting a cutter shaft member 22 to which the first hammer 24 is attached; a punching mechanism 19 for pressurizing the first hammer 24 against a cutter 13; and a punching air cylinder 20 for operating the punching mechanism 19, etc. The cutter shaft member 22 is lowered via a first link member 30 and a second link member connected to the first link member 30 by the retraction driving of the punching air cylinder 20 in the punching mechanism 19. The second hammer 45a is retracted to a waiting position behind the first hammer 24, but is moved to the operation position at the lower side of the first hammer 24 by the advance driving of an air cylinder 53 for downward movement and the retraction driving of an air cylinder 49 for forward movement.
