PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer capable of drying hands while retaining the moist of the skin and at the same time sterilizing the every part of hands. SOLUTION: A heater 7 is disposed in the middle of an air tunnel 6 formed by connecting a nozzle 5 to an air blower 4. The end of the nozzle 5 is provided with a drying air blowing outlet 8 opened toward a drying area A, and hand detection means 12 for detecting that the hands are positioned in the drying area A. This hand dryer 1 actuates the air blower 4 based on the detection signal of the hand detection means 12.
