PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated method of preparing a hand-held filled shell food product. SOLUTION: The automated process to form a food product consisting of a batter shell and a food filling is started with a cooking matrix that includes a plurality of cooking openings to receive the batter.
