PURPOSE:To supplement lowering of sensitivity caused by operation of an electronic shutter and to lower power consumption remarkably by providing a light source that emits light only in effective signal charge accumulating period when an electronic shutter is used. CONSTITUTION:A stroboscope driving pulse is generated during effective signal change accumulating period 14 in operation of an electronic shutter. That is, a pulse that generates stroboscope in a period 15 in the figure (c) is generated in a logic circuit 5 and sent to a strobe driving circuit 8, and strobe light is emitted. Thereby, stroboscope is generated in the effective signal change accumulating period, and an object 1 is illuminated by light, and accordingly, the lowering of sensitivity when an electronic shutter is operated can be supplemented.
