PURPOSE:To transmit the increased braking force by allowing a brake to raise the oil pressure through operation of an actuator when an engine brake sensor senses engine brake condition, and thereby preventing a friction engagement element from slipping. CONSTITUTION:An engine brake sensor 14 senses positive torque while drive is made in the direction from engine to wheels, and oil pressure in an oil line 22 is regulated at a comparatively low value. In the following engine brake condition, the engine brake sensor 14 senses negative torque, and a controller 18 turns on a solenoid 20. An opening 20 is blocked, and the same oil pressure as the line pressure is applied to an oil line 26. This oil pressure is applied to a plug 36 to raise the line pressure, and supplied to a friction engagement element, so that the torque capacity increases. This increased torque capacity prevents the friction engagement element from slipping even in the case equipped with an additional braking device, and thereby the braking force is transmitted certainly. |
