PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, compact and simple swivel seat completely freely rotatable while offering good seating comfort to an operator, and a seat suspension assembly. SOLUTION: This seat and seat suspension assembly are provided with a seat 22 mounted to a seat supporting platform and a suspension mechanism and with the platform and suspension mechanism rotatably mounted to a base part 12 via a pedestal so that the seat 22 can be rotated through 360 degrees freely. The pedestal comprises two rotating housings. The first rotating housing is mounted in fixed position on the base part 12 and the second rotating housing is rotatably mounted to the first and supports the suspension mechanism, platform and seat 22. A suspension spring and damper are associated with the suspension mechanism to enhance the seating comfort of the seat 22.
