PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display of a CPA mode which can achieve bright display, even if high definition is adopted, and to provide a manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display comprises: a process for preparing a liquid crystal panel 100a, wherein a polymerizable composition is included in a liquid crystal layer 30 and an aperture part 16b is formed on substantially the center of each of a plurality of sub-pixel electrodes 16a; a process for preparing a third substrate 40 having an electrode 42; and a process for forming a polymer structure 32 for regulating an alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules 31 by arranging the third substrate 40 opposite to a first substrate 10 of the liquid crystal panel 100a, and in a state where a prescribed voltage is applied to a pixel electrode 16 and between a counter electrode 23 and an electrode 42 of the third substrate 40 so as to polymerize the polymerizable composition in the liquid crystal layer 30.
