PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel covering device which is easily mounted over a channel without damaging the function of the channel, so as to achieve the shielding of an overflowing water dropping noise, the prevention of scattering of corruptive gas, and the prevention of algae growth caused by photosynthesis. SOLUTION: The channel covering device comprises: a canopy 21 which is installed over the channel 1 with an opened top surface; channel shielding walls 22 which are arranged at both the ends of the canopy 21 and located outside the channel 1 at a height lower than a treatment water level; and overflow weirs 23 which are arranged inside the channel shielding walls 22, so as to form necessary overflow water channels 24.
