PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength steel sheet having excellent scale adhesion upon hot pressing in which, upon hot pressing such as die quenching and hot pressing where the steel sheet is heated, and is thereafter subjected to member molding of simultaneously performing press molding and quenching, scale peeling is prevented and galling caused by scale can be suppressed, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a high-strength steel sheet having excellent scale adhesion upon hot pressing, in which, regarding ruggedness present in the surface of the steel sheet, provided that the surface line length is defined as L1, the line length of a straight line is defined as L2 according to the cross-sectional observation of the steel sheet, and the surface line length ratio is defined as R, R=L1/L2×100≥110(%) or 120%.
