PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a transition response of lateral force when a slip angle is constant and fluctuation of load is given to a tire with high precision by using a tire model and compute a transition response of lateral force generated when desired fluctuation of load is given to the tire. SOLUTION: Time constant of first-order lag model of the tire is initially set, and a response function of first-order lag response is fixed. Convolution integration of the fixed first-order lag response function and time gradient of time series data of set load is performed to obtain effective load data. A characteristic curve indicating actually measured values of lateral force for values of the effective load data is regressed into one curve by a spline function by least squares. The square residuals sum of the least squares regression curve and the actually measured characteristic curve at this time is obtained to correct the time constant set to minimize the square residuals sum. The time constant when the square residuals sum is the minimum is decided as a value of time constant to decide the first-order lag model of the tire. The transition response data of lateral force changing by corresponding to the desired set load is computed by using this first-order lag model. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
