PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce load applied to a driving member in a lens barrel where opening/closing of a lens barrier and escaping of a lens are performed. SOLUTION: The lens barrel is equipped with: an optical system (L1, L2, L3 and L4) including at least one or more perpendicular moving lenses (L3) capable of perpendicularly moving to an optical axis between a position where the lens is on the optical axis and a position where it retreats from the optical axis, and arranged to move along the optical axis; the lens barrier (44) arranged on an objective side from the optical system (L1, L2, L3 and L4) and made openable/closable. The lens barrel (1) is equipped with a first interlocking part (21) perpendicularly moving the perpendicular moving lens (L3) interlocked with shifting operation between a photographing state and a collapsing state, and a second interlocking part (73) opening/closing the lens barrier (44), and operation to perpendicularly move the perpendicular moving lens (L3) and operation to open/shut the lens barrier (44) are performed in different timing in the midst of shifting operation.
