PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric pot in which the selection operation for its thermos bottle heat-retention mode is facilitated and the distinction from the normal heat-retention mode is easily discriminated. SOLUTION: This electric pot has a heat-retention control means which has two heat-retention modes: the normal heat-retention mode in which the temperature of water is maintained at a given value by on/off control of a heater and the thermos bottle heat-retention mode in which the heater is kept off and the temperature of water is maintained by thermos bottle effect, a heat-retention selection switch for setting a heat-retention temperature for the normal heat-retention mode and the thermos bottle heat-retention mode and a switch for selecting the thermos bottle heat-retention mode. In the case that the thermos bottle heat-retention mode is released, according to the temperature of water in the inner pot detected with a water temperature detecting means, the water in the inner pot is heated if the temperature is equal or below the set temperature, and the thermos bottle heat-retention mode at the set temperature is continued if the water temperature is over the set value.
