A blocking device (1) including: a body fixable to the household appliance, laterally to a door to be blocked; a striking plate slidingly carried by the body perpendicularly to a rotation axis of the door; safety blocking means including a latch relatively mobile with respect to the body between an extracted position and a retracted position and adapted to engage in the extracted position a through perforation of the striking plate to stop the sliding thereof; a striker carried by the door in a fixed position and perpendicularly protruding from the same and adapted, in use, to engage a through opening of the body; and a catch turnably carried by the body about a rotation axis (R) and against the bias of elastic means, in a position facing the through opening of the body; the elastic means are secured to the catch and to the body, so that a first biasing axis (D) thereof lays on a plane always perpendicular to the rotation axis (R) to make the catch selectively assume a first and a second position, in which it, respectively, engages/does not engage the striker and in which a cam carried by the body operatively connected to the catch cooperates with the striking plate to respectively align/not align the through perforation with the latch. |
