A method for forming an alignment layer of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the LCD are provided to optimize process conditions according to characteristics of photo-induced materials, thereby obtaining a high-quality alignment layer having reduced AC afterimage. Photo-induced alignment materials are coated on a substrate. The photo-induced alignment materials contain at least one kind of monomers selected from a group consisting of monomers represented by the following chemical formula 1. A light is applied to the photo-induced alignment materials on the substrate. A heat is applied to the photo-induced alignment materials on the substrate. A post baking process is performed on the photo-induced alignment materials to form an alignment layer. The applying the light to photo-induced alignment materials and the applying the heat to the photo-induced alignment materials are performed simultaneously. The applying the heat to the photo-induced alignment materials is performed at a temperature of 18-240°C. |
