<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum distillation apparatus of a new constitution suited for the desalination of sea water. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum distillation apparatus is provided with a distillation tower 12 evaporating liquid raw material by heating and condensing, and an ejector 41 reducing the pressure in the distillation tower 12. The distillation tower 12 is provided with a flask-like evaporator 14 having a neck part 14a, a heating medium flow part 30 serving as a heating means for evaporating the liquid raw material in the evaporator 14, and a condenser 16 disposed around the neck part 14a of the evaporator 14. A vapor flow reversing part 22 is formed by air-tightly covering an upper part of the condenser 16 with a tower top cover body 20, and a condensate receiving part 26 is formed by air-tightly covering between a shoulder part 14b of the evaporator 14 and the condenser 16 with an intermediate stage cylindrical body 24.
