<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master/slave setting method for a remote controller, enabling master/slave setting without a special purpose device. <P>SOLUTION: Remote controllers 3a, 3b respectively start as master stations. The control parts 31a, 31b respectively allot one of the operation switches of the operation parts 32a, 32b concerned with air conditioning to a slave station. Subsequently, the user operates the operation switch concerned of the operation part 32b. The control part 31b recognizing the operation switch concerned sets a slave station in itself.
