STARTABILITY FORECASTING DEVICE AND POWER SOURCE CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a startability forecasting device capable of accurately forecasting whether or not an on-vehicle battery can start an engine. SOLUTION: The startability forecasting device is provided with a means 15 for calculating voltage/current characteristic of the on-vehicle battery 1 based on the measured voltage value and current value of the on-vehicle battery 1; and a forecasting means 14 for forecasting whether or not the engine is startable based on the calculated voltage/current characteristic. When the on-vehicle battery 1 is not during charging, the voltage value and the current value of the on-vehicle battery are measured. The forecasting means 14 is provided with a means 14 for calculating the voltage value when a starting current value at starting of a predetermined engine is applied to the voltage/current characteristic of the on-vehicle battery 1; and a determination means 14 for determining whether or not the calculated voltage value is lower than a first voltage value. The forecasting means 14 has a constitution for forecasting that the engine is unstartable when it is determined that the value is lower than the first voltage value. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
