PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent pushing-in of a foreign substance into an ink ejection port by pressing force of a wiping member to the ink ejection surface. SOLUTION: An inkjet printer comprises an inkjet head 2 having an ink ejection surface 3a in which a nozzle is formed, an air discharge member 74 having a bent-form air discharge part 73 which discharges air toward the ink ejection surface 3a and is opened to one side in plan view, a horizontal movement mechanism to horizontally move the air discharge member 74, and an air pump to supply air to the air discharge member 74 so that air may be discharged from the air discharge part 73. The inkjet printer further comprises a maintenance unit movement control section which controls horizontal movement mechanism so that the air discharge member 74 is moved by arranging the opened side of the air discharge part 73 at the head while the air discharge part 73 facing the ink ejection surface 3a in the state where air is ejected from the air discharge part 73.
