PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a motor more compact by reducing a crossover of a winding head to decrease an axial length of the motor, and to save a material cost by decreasing a quantity of wires to be used. SOLUTION: The DC motor has a stator housing holding a permanent magnet stator and a rotor rotatably mounted confronting the stator. The rotor includes a shaft, a rotor core fitted to the shaft and having asymmetric lamination, a commutator fitted to the shaft adjacent to one end of the rotor core, a winding wound around a pole of the rotor core and terminated on the commutator, and a brush gear having a brush in sliding contact with the commutator for transferring electrical power to the winding, wherein cogging torque order for the motor is greater than 20. Preferably, the cogging torque order is 28, 36 or 44. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
