PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink discharge device capable of performing high-quality coloring having no bright spot, and to provide a control method of the ink discharge device. SOLUTION: The ink discharge device is provided with a contour specification means and a timing control means, the contour specifying means specifies the contour part of a region (defect pixel 17) to be colored and the timing control means controls the ink-jetting timing of an ink discharge means (ink-jetting part 2) so as to make ink drops 16 land at least on the specified contour part.
