PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric field communication apparatus in which communication quality of electric field communication is enhanced. SOLUTION: A signal electrode 11A and a ground electrode 11B are disposed on the surface of a case 10. Thus, since the signal electrode 11A and the ground electrode 11B are not brought into contact with electronic components, such as a transmission circuit 21 disposed within the case 10, decrease in an electric field Ec induced in an electric field transport medium can be prevented. Furthermore, since the distance between the signal electrode 11A and the ground electrode 11B is kept, an electric field Ea from the signal electrode 11A to the ground electrode 11B is not increased, and decrease in the electric field Ec induced in the electric field transport medium can be prevented. Moreover, since tight adhesiveness between the signal electrode 11A and the electric field transport medium is improved, the electric field Ec induced in the electric field transport medium can be increased.
