PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience when a photographer confirms lightness in a plurality of areas of an object during a photographing standby state. SOLUTION: On a through-image 100 that is displayed in a photographing standby state, histograms 41a-41e(a) showing the state of lightness distribution in respective divided areas (photometric areas or the like) 31a-31e within a screen, or EV values indicating lightness in a plurality of areas (focus detection areas or the like) 51a, 51b, 51c being spaced apart from one another within the screen, are simultaneously displayed (b).
