PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PLC modem which can be connected to a desired outlet without using a two-way plug etc. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the power line communication modem M1 for performing communication by superposing data on a power line. On one wall surface of a housing 1 which houses a circuit part 5 for power line communication, a plug 2 is provided which can be inserted into outlet insertion slots and on the other wall surface of the housing 1, an insertion slots 4 of a service outlet are provided.
