PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for increasing sensitivity and to provide a technique for recording digital information on a silver halide photographic sensitive material with high resolution and less degradation. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material includes, on a transparent support, blue-sensitive, green-sensitive and red-sensitive photosensitive unit layers each comprising a plurality of layers substantial same in color sensitivity but different in photosensitivity, wherein silver halide grains contained in a silver halide emulsion of at least one layer of the plurality of layers different in photosensitivity have two or more maximums in a grain diameter distribution curve thereof because the silver halide grains have two or more grain diameters. The sensitivity of silver halide grains having the largest maximum grain diameter is higher than the sensitivity of silver halide grains having the smallest maximum grain diameter, and the sensitivity of a mixture of the silver halide grains having the largest maximum grain diameter and the silver halide grains having the smallest maximum grain diameter is substantially higher than the sensitivity of the silver halide grains having the largest maximum grain diameter.
