PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal lens which is easily manufactured, and has a uniform heater configuration with smaller gap unevenness in a cell. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal lens having a liquid crystal layer sandwiched by sticking a transparent substrate, provided with an effective lens region for functioning as a variable focal lens and a heater nearby an outside region of the effective lens region, across a seal employs the configuration that the seal has a first seal in a frame shape which has a first spacer mixed and is provided at an outer edge portion of the transparent substrate and a second seal which has a first spacer mixed as well and is provided inside the first seal and on the heater, and a first thickness correcting member for correcting the thickness of the heater is disposed in the region where the first seal is disposed.
