PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical probe which suppresses an increase in the size of a portion inserted into a body and a deterioration of image accuracy and is movable in the desired direction, and an optical tomogram generating apparatus. SOLUTION: The optical probe is equipped with a tube which is transparent to at least prescribed light and has a hole on a side surface, a light guide path which extends inside the tube, has the distal end inside the tube, and guides the light transmitting the tube through the inside, an optical element which is provided further ahead of the distal end of the light guide path in the tube, emits light guided by the light guide path to a subject through a wall of the tube, and returns the light returning from the subject to the light guide path, a fluid squirting part for squirting a fluid from the hole of the tube, and a rotational part for rotating at least the part ahead of the hole of the tube about the axis of the tube.
