PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of preventing costs from increasing and the number of components from increasing. SOLUTION: An inner tank 5 is freely rotatably placed in an outer tank 4. An upper end part of a surrounding wall 18 of the inner tank 5 is provided with a hole 6. The inner tank 5 is larger in a diameter of the upper end part than that of a lower end part. A circular balance ring 7 is placed outside a diameter direction of the inner tank 5. The circular balance ring 7 has a water holding part 19 which faces the hole 6 and is capable of holding water drained outside the inner tank 5 through the hole 6 when spin-drying.
